The surgeon who operated on Manuel Diosleguarde gave the most detailed report of what happened: «Goring on the inner side of the right thigh of 25 centimeters, with a descending and posterior trajectory below the Triangle Scarpa’s with extensive involvement of the vastus medialis of the quadriceps and saphenous and bleeding of the superficial femoral artery. The superficial femoral artery was clamped and the right internal saphenous vein sutured, the intubated patient was transferred to the Valladolid clinical hospital, stable,” reads the medical report.

Marcos Sanchidrián’s TodosALosToros tweeted: “He is stable. New operation throughout the morning at the height of the twin which is normal. They saved his life in the infirmary at the Cuéllar bullring.”

Other messages from Sanchidrián say the young man is doing much better: “He finished the operation he underwent this morning. He has done well. He remains sedated and awaiting evolution for resuscitation. Diosleguarde’s team thanks for the signs of affection.”

But fortunately the 23-year-old bullfighter is already smiling: “The bullfighter is awake and fully aware of everything that has happened.
