U.S. Vice President JD Vance publicly lashed out over the weekend at political activist Nick Fuentes.

The reaction came after Fuentes made disparaging comments about Usha Vance, the vice president’s wife.

JD Vance Responds to Personal Attacks

Vance also included former White House press secretary Jen Psaki in his response, referencing previous remarks she had made about his marriage.

The exchange once again brought public attention to personal attacks aimed at family members of high-ranking officials, according to USA Today.

It also underscored the vice president’s direct stance against comments he considers offensive or crossing personal boundaries.

What Did JD Vance Say?

In an interview published by the digital magazine UnHerd, Vance responded bluntly:

“Let me be clear. Anyone who attacks my wife, whether their name is Jen Psaki or Nick Fuentes, can eat sh*t. That’s my official policy as Vice President of the United States.”

The statement was presented as an explicit defense of his wife against public criticism.

Vance made no distinction between the political backgrounds of those involved.

His message was direct and left no room for nuance.

Comments by Fuentes and Psaki

Fuentes used an ethnic slur to refer to Usha Vance during one of his livestreams.

In that same appearance, he labeled JD Vance a “racial traitor.”

The Anti-Defamation League describes Fuentes as “a white supremacist.”

According to the organization, his rhetoric often focuses on antisemitic themes, including alleged Jewish power and Holocaust denial.

Jen Psaki, for her part, made remarks in October on the podcast I’ve Had It.

She suggested that the second lady needed to be “rescued” from her husband.

“I always wonder what’s going through his wife’s head,” Psaki said. “Like, are you okay? Please blink four times. Come here, we’ll save you.”

Psaki currently hosts a program on MSNBC.

Who Is Usha Vance?

JD Vance and Usha Vance were married in 2014 and have three children.

Before becoming second lady, Usha Vance worked as an attorney.

She also served as a law clerk to John Roberts, Chief Justice of the U.S. Supreme Court.

In addition, she clerked for Brett Kavanaugh when he served on the U.S. Court of Appeals.

Kavanaugh later became a Supreme Court justice.

Usha Vance is Indian American and comes from a Hindu family.

Her professional career predates her husband’s rise in politics.

Recent remarks placed her at the center of a public debate she did not initiate, reinforcing why JD Vance defends his wife so forcefully in the public arena.
