According to the EFE news agency, U.S. President Donald Trump accused former President Barack Obama of disclosing classified information following remarks about extraterrestrials made during a podcast appearance.
The controversy erupted after Obama stated that aliens “are real” in an interview with journalist Brian Tyler Cohen.
Trump publicly reacted to those comments, asserting that the former president made a serious mistake.
The current president made his remarks to reporters aboard Air Force One while traveling to the state of Georgia, fueling the ongoing Trump Obama alien controversy.
“He gave classified information; he’s not supposed to do that,” Trump said.
The Republican leader insisted that his predecessor crossed a line by addressing the subject.
Without providing further details, Trump reiterated that Obama “gave classified information. He made a grave mistake.”
Trump also emphasized that he does not know whether aliens are real or not.
The accusation opened a new chapter of tension between the two leaders, this time centered on a topic that has sparked public speculation for decades.
Obama’s Statements on the Podcast
During his appearance on Brian Tyler Cohen’s podcast, Obama participated in a rapid-fire question segment.
In that portion, Obama was directly asked whether aliens are real.
The former Democratic president nodded and responded briefly.

Obama added that they are not being hidden at Area 51.

The remarks generated immediate reactions due to the nature of the topic and the fact that they came from a former president, further intensifying the Trump Obama alien controversy.

Following the backlash, Obama posted a clarification on his Instagram account regarding his comments on aliens.
There, he explained that during his presidency he did not see “evidence” that “extraterrestrials have made contact with us.”
However, he noted that he made an assumption based on the vastness of the universe.
“Because the universe is so vast, it’s likely that there is life out there,” he stated.
The debate also renewed interest in Area 51, a military base whose existence was officially confirmed in 2013.
That year, the CIA declassified documents confirming that the base was created by order of President Dwight Eisenhower in the mid-1950s.
According to those files, Area 51 was established to conduct tests of the U-2 spy plane.
The aircraft was capable of flying at high altitudes and covering very long distances.
Trump’s accusations as he attacks Obama and the former president’s clarifications once again placed the subject at the center of public debate, keeping the Trump Obama alien controversy in the headlines.
For now, the U.S. president maintains that he does not know whether extraterrestrials exist.
The episode adds another political clash between the two leaders, this time revolving around statements that combine scientific speculation and concerns over classified information.
