The radio community and the general public are in shock following confirmation of the death of Geovanna Ramírez, a well-known host for Radio Exa Monterrey, whose body was found in Silao, Guanajuato.

The discovery took place on Sunday night on Queta Jiménez Street, in the Estrella neighborhood, when local police responded to a citizen report.

Upon arrival, officers found a woman showing no vital signs and called for paramedics, who confirmed the death at the scene.

The body was taken to the Forensic Medical Service for an autopsy and the collection of evidence to help determine the cause of death.

The Specialized Homicide Investigation Unit, in coordination with the Guanajuato State Attorney General’s Office (FGE), took over the investigation.

On Monday afternoon, the state prosecutor’s office issued a statement confirming that the victim was Geovanna Edith “N.”

“The State Attorney General’s Office reports that on Sunday, August 10, 2025, a report was received from the Silao Municipal Public Security Department regarding the discovery of a deceased female in the La Estrella neighborhood. After initial inquiries, it has been confirmed that she is Geovanna Edith ‘N,’” the agency stated.

The institution provided no details regarding Geovanna Ramírez’s possible cause of death but assured that “the required investigative protocols for the case are already being observed.”

Shock in the Radio Industry

It also emphasized that any updates will be released officially and only within the timelines allowed by the legal process.

The case has generated public outcry not only because of Geovanna’s prominence in radio but also due to the mystery surrounding the circumstances of her death.

Originally from Guanajuato, the radio host had built a solid career in media after training at the MVS Radio Training Center.

In Monterrey, she worked for stations such as Exa Monterrey, La Mejor Monterrey, and XEFB-AM, and also appeared as a television host for Azteca Noreste.

Geovanna Ramírez’s Professional Career and Business Ventures

Her voice and charisma earned her the recognition of the public as well as her colleagues in the radio and television industry.

Outside of media, Geovanna Ramírez also developed a business career.

She was the majority partner of Inplo S.A. de C.V., a company specializing in fire protection systems, process piping, thermofusion, and hydro-sanitary installations.

In addition, she owned the bar “Las Cinco Coronelas,” showcasing her professional versatility and commitment to diverse projects.

News of Geovanna Ramírez’s death leaves a void in the radio scene of northern Mexico, as authorities continue investigating to clarify the case.
