With just one month remaining before the official start of mass deportations, the Customs and Border Protection Department has made a significant discovery.

A group of 37 undocumented migrants was found hidden in a trailer by Border Patrol agents.

The incident occurred in El Paso, Texas, during a routine checkpoint on Interstate 25.

According to a statement shared by Telemundo Noticias, Border Patrol agents heard noises near the back door of the trailer, leading to the discovery.

The event took place on Sunday when Border Patrol agents, alerted by the sounds, noticed individuals trying to conceal themselves in the trailer’s rear section.

The undocumented individuals were crouched inside the trailer, with none of the 37 possessing valid documentation.

Authorities reported that the migrants hailed from Mexico, Guatemala, Ecuador, El Salvador, and Cuba.

All 37 individuals were taken into custody and transported to the Central Processing Center.

Smuggling individuals in trailers poses significant risks to their lives due to the extreme and often inhumane conditions inside.

In 2024 alone, authorities in the El Paso sector disrupted 24 human smuggling cases involving crowded trailers, totaling 387 migrants.

Anthony Scott Good, the chief of the El Paso sector, stated that smuggling organizations deceive migrants with false promises about life in the United States.

As Donald Trump prepares to take office, policies enforcing mass deportations are expected to create increasingly harsh conditions for immigrants.
